National Office Update

Dear RDA UK volunteers and staff,

There is lots to tell you about this week, so apologies for the longer-than-usual email.

Firstly, just a reminder that if and when you have any changes to your County or Regional team, please can you let Faye McKenning (fmckenning@rda.org.uk /01926 405966) know so we can welcome and invite them to our induction meeting.

 

Weekly Webinars

This week: Green Card & Health and Safety (Thursday 7th April 7pm)

Faye McKenning, Projects Coordinator: Volunteer Development, and Marisa Bretherton-Mackay, Group Support and Business Operations Manager, will be going over some new aspects of the updated Green Card, helpful reminders on how to run your sessions safely and discussing the e-Learning courses.

Grow Your Group/ Come Back Stronger workshop (18th May)

Catherine Holland (Group Development Manager) is running our "Grow Your Group/Come Back Stronger" workshop at the RDA National Training Centre (NTC) in Shrewley. The workshop is a chance to share ideas and gain new information about how groups can sustain or maybe even grow. Leadership Training (Friday 20th May)

There are spaces for RDA UK volunteers to attend Leadership Training at NTC on Friday 20th May, places are available on a first come first serve basis. Please book by contacting Faye McKenning.

Dementia Action Week – Tea With a Pony sessions

In honour of Dementia Action Week (16-22 May 2022), RDA is aiming to have as many groups run a Tea With a Pony session in that week as possible, or sign up to include Tea With a Pony in their list of activities. Riding School Licences

If you have any queries relating to Riding School Licences, please email these to Emma Bayliss ebayliss@rda.org.uk  We are working with the Riding School Licence Sub-Committee to answer as many queries as possible in the form of an FAQ sheet, and will let you know as soon as this becomes available.

 

Endurance League

The ever-popular Endurance League has started again, so please promote this to your groups if you can. All the information is available here: https://www.myrda.org.uk/runningyourgroup/endurance/  

The League is a great way to encourage groups to start offering Endurance if they don’t already do so. Becoming an Endurance group is easy, groups just need to complete the form online at the above address.

 

Job Vacancy: Deputy Yard Manager at the National Training Centre

The role will encompass supporting the Yard Manager and team with yard duties at Lowlands Equestrian Centre, home of RDA UK. This includes general care of the horses at the Centre and supporting with riding school activities and equestrian events. The position closes 14th April.

Saddle up for a brand new 100-mile ride!

RideLondon - the world’s greatest festival of cycling – returns on Sunday 29 May 2022. At the heart of this celebration of all things cycling is the RideLondon to Essex 100 challenge – a unique opportunity to ride 100 miles on traffic-free roads through the heart of London and neighbouring Essex.
