National Office Update

Dear RDA UK volunteers and staff,

We are sad to announce that Mary Jones, founder of Lapworth RDA, passed away. Mary started as a volunteer at the RDA Centre of England group in 1968 and then founded Lapworth RDA. Mary played an integral role in her region of West Mercia, serving as County Chair for Warwickshire and serving on the West Mercia Regional Committee and Finance Committee. Our thoughts are with her family and those of you who knew her.

Road to Restart – up to date guidance and resources for RDA Groups on MyRDA

Please make any of your groups not yet open again after early 2020 aware that sign-off by RDA National Office before beginning any activity is still a requirement – as although COVID restrictions may now have been lifted across the UK, much of the preparation assessment of equines, volunteers, training etc. will still apply. All current guidance and resources can be found on the updated ‘Road to Restart’ page on MyRDA.

If a group needs further help and support, please contact the Group Support team:groupsupport@rda.org.uk

Thank you to our Badminton Volunteers

A massive thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who gave up their valuable time to help us at Badminton Horse Trials last week, it was a great success and we thoroughly enjoyed being Badminton’s Charity of the Year. The first call out for volunteers generated a fantastic response, and we are so thankful to those who attended and made the event a success for RDA. We hope our volunteers enjoyed the experience as much as we did. It was great to have so many of our RDA community come and visit us too.
